05 May An Open Letter From the Desk of Marc Brule

I will be taking a leave of absence for a couple of months. I have simply reached a point where I need significant rest and rejuvenation. It is wiser to make this choice before things deteriorate into being significantly unhealthy. Too many pastors push themselves beyond their limits and end up burned out, in moral failure or out of the ministry, sometimes at the cost of their marriage or family. I choose not to make that mistake. There is no moral failure attached to this decision and I want to continue to live my life in integrity.

Andrew Thompson will be functioning as Interim Pastor during this time. I have key people in my life working with me during this process. I ask that you respect the boundaries of letting those people be involved and giving me the needed privacy while working with them. I expect to return spiritually, emotionally, mentally, and physically healthy.

I appreciate your prayers and ask that you continue to engage and support the community at WellSpring Community Church as you have to this point.

Sincerely,

Marc Brule, Pastor

12 Jan Week of Fasting and Prayer

Prayer is the life blood of every believer and every church. Without it we end up doing our thing our way. With it we can do God’s thing God’s way.

Psalm 127:1–2 (NIV) — 1 Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain. Unless the Lord watches over the city, the guards stand watch in vain. 2 In vain you rise early and stay up late, toiling for food to eat— for he grants sleep to those he loves.

We can all build our lives, families, businesses, churches, etc. with, or without God. The one built with God will be the healthiest and best. This is what we want for our lives and WellSpring Community Church. So we are taking time to come together as a community to fast, pray and seek God.

We will be doing this Sunday to Wednesday, January 18-21. Sunday will start at 6:00pm. Monday-Wednesday will be 7:00-8:30pm. No children’s programs will be provided. There will be worship, teaching on prayer, and time spent in prayer.

Fasting is also suggested. Following are two links to some information and guidelines to healthy Biblical fasting.
